Perhaps you could make part of the game to design your ships from the utopia
plenisha yards. It wouldn't be exciting just to put it together from a menu,
but by somehow making a game out of the design process... Just wondering...

Hi Lisa,
Yes... I've been strongly looking at the idea of walking a player
through a selection screen after they click play new game. They would
hit enter on play new game it might ask you what class of ship,
followed by the ship name. Then, your list of missions.
Of course I could shorten that by simply giving you a list of ships
Defiant, Enterprise, etc and as soon as you pick that ship it's specific
attributes are filled in such as max warp speed, photon torpedoes,
quantum torpedoes, phaser strength, shield strength, etc...
By adding multiple types of ships it could greatly change the type of
game and some ships would be better suited for some missions than
others. However, once picked you are that ship for the remainder of the
game.
I can see an Intrepid-Class player might not be good in a firefight in
some missions, but the speed advantage might aid them allot.
The Defiant's cloak might help out in a mission where stelth rather than
brons is needed to carry out the mission.
In other cases say the earth is under attack from a Borg ship a
Sovereign-Class with it's over welming firepower might be the better choice.
However, no matter what ship you pick the game will be different since
you can alter tactics and game play to suit the ships advantages and
disadvantages.
